First Sporting Event Photo Shoot in Sandy Utah

By Jed Grant

Softball Home Run AftermathSo. I’ve been trying to do things that will get my name out there. Turns out even if you have pretty decent pictures no one wants pictures. I offered a free shoot to any and all of my friends. One of them responded… One. And then they never got back to me, so I had to take steps. I placed a classified ad in the local newspapers online classified section. Since then I’ve been able to do a few shoots with more coming. The cool part is there’s all kinds of variety and the people are a lot of fun. These images are from a softball game I shot yesterday I edited them all last night in Lightroom and I have to say, if you’re doing a lot of pictures you need to get Lightroom, Photoshop is more powerful, but Lightroom tears it apart with pure speed.

I tried to shoot a little of everything, when they walked out to the field to take their positions, batting, hanging out with their team mates and even some pictures of their fans. You can see all of the images on my Flickr stream or by going to the my photos tab up above.

Softball Team Shot

They wanted a team shot and this one turned out a little too hot, but I still liked the image best.

Softball Home Run Aftermath

There were a couple of home runs near the end of the game and I was able to get the reactions on camera.

Great pics! I didn’t know you were doing this. I just saw your pictures on Emily’s blog. They turned out so cute.

I’ve intended to do this for quite some time, I just never really did it. A few months ago I decided it was time 🙂 How are you by the way, it’s been at least 4 years since I’ve seen you. How are things?
